Pocket Door Hardware: Handles We offer a wide range of pocket door handles to suit our range of pocket doors at Pocket Door Superstore. Several pocket door hardware components work as a handle mechanism for pocket doors, depending on the type of door leaf you’re using & the mechanism you’re looking for, there are a number of handles that can be right for you. Pocket doors can either be opened with handles, like a standard door, or by using a pocket door pull, these flush pulls take advantage of a sliding mechanism that pocket doors offer, allowing the user to pull the door shut from the edge of the door as opposed to the front of the leaf. These edge pulls sit flush into the pocket door leaf edge and are hidden once the door is closed. You also need to ensure that the handle you choose is suitable for the door leaf, most handles and door pulls will only work either with a glass or timber pocket door. If you’re unsure, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team for more guidance on our pocket door hardware.
    • Lock Hardware

FAQs when installing a pocket door kit

What tools are required for a pocket door installation project?

When installing pocket doors you need to ensure you have the right tools to do so, all of these can be found in your local hardware store. We’d suggest getting hold of a drill, hammer, gloves, tape measure, level & plumb line in order to follow the pocket door installation kit guide provided by ECLISSE.

Can pocket door kits be used as part of a load bearing wall?

We would not suggest using them in a load bearing wall, if you were to do so you’d need to take into account that something else, such as a steel, would then need to be installed to take on the load. If you’re unsure you should speak to your contractor about this.

How much does it cost to install a pocket door?

You can expect a starting cost of around $500, all the way up to $2,500, but this really depends on a number of factors around how you’re installing your pocket door, read our full guide on the cost of installing a pocket door for more guidance on this.

What doors can I use in my pocket door frame?

You can use pretty much any door in your pocket door system as long as the dimensions of that door are right. You maybe also be able to use an existing door however do bear in mind that if it’s a traditional door that’s been hung there may be existing cut outs for handles and hinges, therefore most people opt for a new door.

Can I install pocket doors myself or do I need professional help?

This will completely depend on how confident you feel with you DIY skills. We have many customers that have installed a pocket door frame into their own home, however should you have a number of doors to install or don’t feel sure on whether the existing wall is suitable or how your pocket door kit will fit into the existing door opening it may be easier to seek professional support.

What's the main benefit of installing pocket doors?

The main benefit of installing a pocket door is that making better use of your available wall space, you’ve able to maximise the floor space available to you in your home. Essentially, should you have an interior door which has sufficient stud wall space available next it, save floor space where the swinging door would have previously taken this up.
