Pocket Door Hardware: Handles We offer a wide range of pocket door handles to suit our range of pocket doors at Pocket Door Superstore. Several pocket door hardware components work as a handle mechanism for pocket doors, depending on the type of door leaf you’re using & the mechanism you’re looking for, there are a number of handles that can be right for you. Pocket doors can either be opened with handles, like a standard door, or by using a pocket door pull, these flush pulls take advantage of a sliding mechanism that pocket doors offer, allowing the user to pull the door shut from the edge of the door as opposed to the front of the leaf. These edge pulls sit flush into the pocket door leaf edge and are hidden once the door is closed. You also need to ensure that the handle you choose is suitable for the door leaf, most handles and door pulls will only work either with a glass or timber pocket door. If you’re unsure, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team for more guidance on our pocket door hardware.
    • Lock Hardware

Measure the available space.

Choose the standard pocket door frame size that will fit the space.

If you need a wider passage width, consider a couple of alternative options.
Here below, the ECLISSE Single model is used as an example.

Choosing the right pocket door

Number one in white in grey circle logo
Measure the rough opening (RO) you have available. The pocket door frame needs to be able to fit within this space.

Tip:

Make sure to measure from the finished floor level since that is where you will need to install the ECLISSE frame from.

Look at the sizing table and decide which frame size will fit within the available space to help determine which size door you will use with the frame.

The frame kit size you should purchase should be the same as the door panel size being used on the opening.

Alternative solution

Consider which side you have the pocket. It may be that changing the position of the pocket gives you a better solution. If you require a larger passage width a single telescopic system could give you a possible solution; check all information about this product on page.

Stud walls and Size

It is important you understand this section as there is different size stud walls with standard being 2×4 and 2×6. Stud walls are made up of wooden or steel studwork with drywall attached.

Wooden studwork

Steel studwork

The steel framework takes the place of the studwork and the doors are hung from the top track. ECLISSE pockets can be used with steel or wooden studwork. In the photo you can see from one side what it looks like before installing the drywall.

Studwork size

There are many different sizes of stud work, ECLISSE has all of them!

Studwork (S)

3-1/2″
5-1/2″

Internal Passage (IP)

2-3/8″ (2×4)
4-3/8″ (2×6)

Adding the drywall to the studwork you will reach the required finished wall thickness dimension.
Here an example:

  • 3-1/2″ stud work plus 5/8″ drywall on each side gives a finished wall thickness of 4-3/4″
  •  5-1/2″ stud work plus 5/8″ drywall on each side gives a finished wall thickness of 6-3/4″
